Rooted in Hardstep Drum&Bass, KLAbe began mixing at the tender age of 15.
Along with his group of 3 DJs and countless MCs, he gained notoriety in his home town of Northolt (west London) with hundereds of one-off mixtapes circlulating the area via the age-old method of being borrowed by a friend who would in turn, lend to a friend and so on.
House parties and local pirate radio stations were regular hangouts. Accumulating musical knowledge and building a network with like-minded people made the hardships of teenage life in 90s London seem less important.
As the years passed and KLAbe's musical taste matured he began to branch out into other genres sampling the delights of progressive house, Tech House, Electronica and Minimal Techno.
Now in his late 20s, KLAbe has settled down as a proud father of 3 but still loves the underground music scene with a passion.
In his spare time, KLAbe makes weekly 10 minute mixes and posts them on his popular YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/kingklabe
Not settling for a generic 3 tune mishmash given YouTube's 10:59 limit, he specifically picks tracks that gel together and builds the mix to a climactic finish; A fine example being his: "From Darkness Comes Light" series which, as the title suggests, starts off dark and brooding then progresses to something uplifting.
In the future KLAbe would like to pursue a career in tutoring "up and coming" DJs and producers showing them the techniques and skills he has acquired from a lifetime of musical interest.
