D j Loco AKA Martin Wilson, is a DJ and producer who has been involved in the dance music scene since the early-90s. He started Djing at around the tender age of 15, running an under-18 club himself – a perfect start to his career. The early Nineties Irish rave scene, and in particular the legendary club, The Point Inn exposed Martin to Djs such as Glen Molloy, Chris Hurly and Robbie Nelson, which greatly influenced the music in which he plays. Other major influences through the years have been Sasha & Digweed, Dave Seaman, Fathers of Sound
In 1995 Martin teamed up with local Dj and life long friend Doc and form the Djing partnership DOC & LOCO, and went on to play a host of clubs in N.Ireland, Which included Kelly’s, Circus Circus, Charlie Hegarty’s , The Venue, Dufffy’s and their own residency Scream. Playing along side Dj’s such as Tall Paul, Tony de Vit, Pete Bones, Glen Molloy, Colin Bass Jacko, Paul P, Colin Bass.
Around the same time Martin teamed up with a local musician John McClelland and created the Group Morpheus, who played nearly every major venue in N.Ireland at the time, and also a few major raves in Scotland. Through this partnership another project evolved, which lead to a release on Ugly Bug records as Honk, titled Hullabaloo.
As the local scene in Martin’s hometown moved from the big clubs back underground, gigs were harder to come by, so Martin decided to take a break from the scene. In the years that followed, he has had a very successfull career in retail management, but always felt that he would return to what he loves best Djing.
And as of recent he has done just that, with a succession of mixes being broadcast last year on various radio stations such as Italia network, and CueLK. His sound focuses on progressive house and techno. With an ear for quality tracks and impeccable mixing skills, Martin is fastly creating a stir in the scene again
