This is a live mix done in December 2012, but it might as well have happened in the late nineties. It's all from my vinyl maxi collection. Chicago forever! Felix da Housecat, Kelly Hand, Markey, Green Velvet, DJ Boris, Trackhead Steve, DJ Rush, ...
The JBVicious Bug Out Sessions continue with the Uptempo Genre of Chicago Juke! If your from Chicago or just a Juke lover, this ones for you!Yoooo, the Uptempo Beats Per Minute of this genre is so Damn fast My wrist speed for scratching was lagging behind. LOL This is one of the fastest Bpm's I've mixed. Still Love the Genre! Will definitely drop more Juke Mixes in the near future. Enjoy!
Throwing a mix all the way back to the very first mix I did in New
Mexico. Taking a long look back at the History of House Music in
Chicago from the days of disco, to the early days of the Warehouse, Acid
House, the roots of Ghetto House and Hip House, and everything in
between. Not all tracks were made from Chicago, but each help to
influence and shape the Chicago House sound. You'll notice Freestyle
and Hard House were overlooked in the search for certain influential
sounds. Beginning in 1972 and moving forward well into the late 90's,
see where house came from and the city it came from.
This is an idea I had, when I check some newly downloaded tracks. Why
not create a mix of some good songs from the last few weeks internet
search. Surprisingly I found a lot of stuff sounding like old classic house, but is manly newly produced. Otherwise there a some older tracks which fit very well the
feeling of the new retro sound. 2/3 of the mix is in 125 BPM the other tracks
have 128 BPM. I give it to you, Just for the joy of mixing :-) If you like, hear also the last third of the mix, is more powerful, and ending with a cool classic underground tune.
