Neil’s production career began in 1992 when his first alias NRG was
born. A mix-tape DJ originally into hip-hop and breaks, was lured into
the nocturnal world of the UK rave scene. Instantly latching onto this
crazy sound, Neil’s take on it was to take him and the music on an
unforgettable journey. Comparisons to The Prodigy were often made to
Neil's early sound. Amazing highs and lows followed which left the legacy of some of the
rave scene’s most classic anthems, and some hard business lessons
learned along the way. As a pirate radio DJ Neil signed to the infamous
Chill Records that eventually went bust. Through Chill Neil released the
huge anthem ‘I Need Your Lovin’ which sampled the Korgis ‘Everybody’s
Gotta Learn Sometime’. This was licensed to more than 50 labels
worldwide. Also followed ‘Never Lost His Hardcore’, a hard-house anthem
to this day, which saw success on classic Belgium imprint R&S
Records and later on Tidy Trax in the UK.
My favourite Funky House tunes from the past few weeks.if you like what you hear then please check out my blog - www.djnzk.blogspot.com for more radio shows/mixes.
One of the live recordings i still have from base bar back in 2003 not my finest outing by a long shot but it is what it is ... this mix reminds me of the good old days when vinyl was still king and you could still spark up a fag in the pub :)
a mix i did as a free promo cd back in 2004 its starts off quite jazzy but gets funkier as it goes .. all the tracks were tried and tested floorfillers from my residency at base bar the mix is basically a collection of sure players from my 4 hour weekly sets of spring/summer 2004. I hope you enjoy the mix all comments positive or critical are welcomed & appreciated
A 1 hour house mix originally used to promote Green the "rebirth" in may 2011 expect funky, vocal, disco house a few of the tracks on here are quite old but were very underplayed when they were "current" and still sound fresh ... all comments appreciated & welcomed :)
1 hour house mix originally used as a promo cd for the sell out Green reunion on may 2011.Expect t o hear funky, vocal, disco house typical to Green with more modern "tech edged" beats towards the end. Some of the tracks are a little cheesy... but i think they are cool (i like to think i have good taste in music hehe) but i'm sure you can judge for yourselves .... hope you enjoy the mix and all comments are welcomed. ;)
Originally disc 2 of a double pack for sale in 2010 (sorry to everyone who payed for theres ... it was 3 years ago) from Prestons legendary house music event GREEN expect to hear uplifting vocal disco edged funky house from 1999 to 2004 :)
