This is the first in a series of mixes I've decided to put together after speaking to a few people. All of the tracks used in these mixes remind myself and others in some way or other of Mr John McKay who is sadly no longer with us. I met John in 1994 and he was responsible for me getting into this kind of music. Before meeting him I was playing hardcore, breakbeat and other mindless nonsense and I've never looked back. I'll never forget the day he said "You heard of John Digweed? You need to listen to this guy". I said "John fuckin who?" And 20 years later I'm still following everything Diggers does.
This is the first of 2 Renaissance classics mixes. I'll be doing a house mix, an old school mix and an upbeat mix of more bouncy stuff.
