There are few pieces of electronica that were more influential to early house and techno producers than Manuel Göttsching's "E2 - E4", a 60 minute krautrock jam of summery keyboards and guitar that slowly wends its way through various phrases. It set the blueprint for balearic, inspired Sueno Latino (and others after), but probably most importantly showed cats like Juan Atkins and Derrick May that music didn't have to be structured along verse-chorus patterns to be good.
So, since it's summer here in Melbourne I'm opening the show with the fist side of "E2-E4" - it's a pity I don't have a full hour to play the whole thing really.
After that, there's a healthy slice of early 90s British prog house, but some of the lesser remembered ones I hope.
Finally, some more goodness from my buddy Max Dodge (https://soundcloud.com/maxdodge) with a re-edit of DNA's "La Serenissima" in the final 30 minutes of tuneage.
Rock on Summer!
