Welcome back to another edition of the Saaangers Studio Sessions. In the world of music there are ladies who sing and then there are ladies who saaanng, ladies who call themselves entertainers and those who truly entertain. The line between the singers and saaangers, the talented and the talentless is easily blurred so today I celebrate someone who created her own musical canvas SADE.
Helen Folasade Adu, (Sade for short) aka "The Voice of Love" aka "The Smoothest of Operators" sounds like, and is like no other artist. Her voice and her music always sounds different and more distinct than everything else. It has that mood, that "Sade" vibe, that sultry, soulful ambiance. You hear her music and you know distinctly "That gotta be Sade" that's her song, she wrote it, sings it from the depths of her soul like no one else in the world can sing it and pull it off.
Sade was always criticized for not being more prolific with her music, her answer to that was this: "I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I'm not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand;" Well Sade, we all thank you for when you spoke because you spoke volumes and no one says it quite like you.
