Sets played to bring in the dawn are usually the most uplifting any DJ can make them. What about leading into this time, and those sets? Some find it their job to set the scene, lay the groundwork, and to manage not to steal thunder, or play a dawn set before dawn actually happens...... The load seems to build, for some and not for all. It's one of those daunting tasks any DJ faces or becomes drawn into.
There's a saying about "the darkest hour is just before dawn". Some take that quite literally. A few get pulled into playing a darker set than they planned, or hoped to play.
Playing on words can provide help, set your own mood, and help you rely less on hope.
What if you play with imagery? What if you were on another planet? Where our planet has one moon, another may have more. Where our planet has one sun, another may be in a binary system. The concept of dawn changes.
What may be a daunting task on our planet could well be an altogether, very different prospect. It may become..... DawnTing. Words and images work together.
