This isn't a total change of direction for me. You could say this is going back to my roots, part of the way at least. Actually, it's more like another generation on from where my beginnings were, musically and in context with Djing. Soul & Blues, as well as Rock, was part of where I was at, man. Where I was at was really liking so much of what was never to be heard on radio. It's the reason I began going to clubs, because I hated being spoon-fed with crass. I wanted music that excited me, moved me, made me wanna dance....



 



Along the way, various movies came out that included some tracks I liked. And then Tarantino arrived, his movies were full of tracks much like these.



Forget BPM! These were recorded to be played back on fixed speed turntables! Whatever the tempo, that's what you had to dance to. Beat-matching is out. Leave it alone. Let the music play....... Music from the Soul!
