It's a kind of random set. When I started out, another genre was going to be played. Anyhow, once you get underway, stick with it.
After-parties come in all shapes and sizes. Some are organised, arranged to happen, as follow-ups to main nights, acting like an extension. Others are the more random kind, almost on the spur of the moment by invites to a few, but, as is the case, with 'open' added, to make sure no one's been missed. Where a few friends gather, there will be music.
With one kind, music is organised. Most times, it will be more of the same that you experienced earlier. Perhaps a 2nd or alternative set by DJs who've already performed,
With the other, it can be more random. These tend to be 'open decks' sessions, most times. Do as you please as long as it keeps to the spirit and mood of the after-party. This could very easily be a set I'd play.
