Something I've done before, both solo and in collaboration with others, is creating a whole new soundtrack to an existing movie. That's always proven successful particularly when people really love the different experience. It's always been the spur to going ahead with another.
You'll always wish you'd done particular movies. As examples: 'Blade Runner', 'The Grand Parade'. High on my list, would it prove too difficult to guess? Fritz Lang was years ahead of his time. 'Metropolis' is regarded as an all-time classic now.
I've added in that this is also one of my favourite movies, and a likely influence on a set. So, this comes from a couple of angles.
