With this set, I simply set off playing. I always have a massive backlog of tracks to work through, and the best way is just get going and play them. There will be chance to include some I've quickly listened and not used elsewhere, not even their remixes. Older tracks give way to new tracks constantly,
The other side of the equation is when I review my pool of tracks, across all genre. You really would become engulfed with too many tracks. Regularly, I bring my pool down to a manageable size, based on dates.
Does that mean those taken out are gone, never to appear again? Not a chance. At certain points, I go back and review every mix, not to improve (as I'm sure I can, in hindsight), but to check what could have been had certain tracks come in.
Back to this set. I thought I'd keep as close to one genre as possible. A definite mood soon comes through without even planning one.
