Breakbeat Hardcore emerged through the scene
& It became Commonly known as "Rave"
It was also known as hardcore by early ravers,
& first appeared amongst
the UK "acid" movement during the late 1980s
at warehouse parties and
other underground venues, as well as on UK pirate radio stations.
and was a derivative of the acid house and techno music.

This is where it mainly began for me if I wasn't off my face raving at a venue
I was behind the decks spinning the tunes to get the party people jumping

This Mix focuses on 1990 before it expanded rapidly in 1991

Enjoy!

Another dope mix. A couple of decades ago, I was playing guitar and keyboards in blues/folk/rock bands and one night happened to walk in to a bar to see DJ Spooky doing his business. I have been chasing that experience ever since. I picked up some Technics and old records and started teaching myself the art, but never acquired all of the skills I needed to hear that thing I sought. Ever since I traded in the decks for a suit years ago, I've been trying to hear that thing I was trying to achieve. I have found it in you, DJ F. You, as I did, view a record not as just a bangin' track, but as a buffet of rhythms, tones, soundscapes from which to extract the threads you use to weave these masterful tapestries of sound that can only be understood as coming from a musician - not a guy playing records. Some day, you will weave an epic symphony of neurofunk, hardstyle, breaks, house, maybe a little jungle, all tied together with your flawless transitions, your artistic vision, and your impeccable ear. You will throw some filth in at the right moments and I will no longer seek anything else. That'll be a fun day. Until then, I look forward to absorbing more and more of your work product. It truly is a level above, my friend. So much vision - so much art - so much more. Thank you for sharing it.

OPENING TRACK!!!!!!!! - HAAAA....by the 1:35 mark you knew there would come a time when you didn't have to buy a whole album for just one song. 5:20 - To this day, any sample using Rakim's vocals is mint. 9:30 - Atari, Space Invaders, and a sugar buzz from the depths of Hell. 13:13 - SWINGS. Bits like this is what makes music and why we are headz. One melody and you just know that bliss, it just fookin' swings. 21:05 - The band Devo on acid. 27:05 - 1988 MTV would play bits like this on commercials and the ish would be stuck in your brain for months. 34:00 - INSTANT HEAT. 37:37 - AHHH YEAH, that's when we knew we were MENTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! 41:20 - And knowing was half the battle I heard once: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zQHqVoJRxh4/UQL-AQF02OI/AAAAAAAAGno/jBIOsPz31j0/s1600/SubMariner+%252320+-+Page+10.jpg - 52:00 - ZONIN'. Jefferson Airplane, "And all the other freaks will share my cares." 60:05 - Locked in and lol at myself because cats 20 years younger than me masturbate on their phones; but I'm a freak because I'm obsessively listening to this....smh. 65:30 - She whispers in my ear more than my wife does these days, rofl. 72:05 - BOOGIE. Again, choon makes you dance in your mind or be a world class athlete, mental coordination for real. 77:10 - My daughter thinks I'm an alien. My politicians are some of the greatest thespians in all of humanity. 81:20 - W H E W!!!!!!!!!! So here is the medication for the anti-social anxiety disorder. 95:00 - Coda.... It's medication only, there is no cure.

- The set title and notes inside are all you need to know. Gen-X the media called us when Alyssa Milano wasn't considered a cougar and a pager made you reality star famous. One listen here and you'll know if you are infected with the virus. This is why we are headz and this is why we are medicated every weekend. (97 mins 43 secs - DROPPIN' SCIENCE!)
