Strange Cargo - Sort of like the strange and freaky step brother who lives in the loft, digging deep to reveal far out sounds that push the stations boundaries with an eclectic melange and magical musical adventure through genres, space & time ;-) One time every week the station boss lets the freak out of the bag and we get our groove on, Strange cargo Style! Surfing genres and eras and prominently displaying a stiff two fingers to the genre police as we simply play real good, feel good music ideal for chilling out on a Saturday afternoon.
A wonderful show today full of diversity and eclectic sounds from all over the world. Today's guest MADS (Pronounced "Mas" with a silent D) went down a storm with the locals and our foreign cousins alike with a rich, deep and seriously funky 50 minute set that rocked the speakers throughout.
With lots of wonderful rare cover versions of well known and timeless tunes splendidly reinterpreted bu European artists, Mads provided his own magical musical journey revealing hidden gems and treasures from his own remarkable crate digging adventures the world over. Dropping tracks he has picked up on his travels his set was warmly appreciated in the chat room where they like their funk particularly dirty and sleazy and with a host of guitar driven stormers in amongst the mix he didn't disappoint the SLR Saturday regulars ;-)
A premier set from a man who has now agreed to jump on board the good ship Strange Cargo as a REGULAR guest selector bringing you a new mix each season of 2013.
