This series of mixes came about while i was putting a tracklist together for one of my 80's & 90's Soul And Funk mixes. I looked at the tracklist when it was finished and noticed that half of them were from 1982 so i thought to myself "Why not make the whole mix from 1982".
The trouble is, it seemed a bit silly just to make one mix from 1982 and not the other years so i thought "why not make a mix for each year of the 80's" Little did i know what i was letting myself in for. Originally each mix was only going to be 80 minutes long but once i started going through my records i knew that that wasnt going to be enough.
Most of the mixes are two to two and a half hours long and i still had to leave loads out.
The next bright idear i had was making a specialist mix for each year of the 80's because each year had at least one new dance genre that dominated that particular year. If your particular genre from the 80's isnt included in this selection, i'm sorry this isnt meant in anyway to be diffinitive, just what i've got in my collection.
I did the first of these mixes about two years ago so i've had quite some time to listen to some of them and i love both the 1980's mixes as well as the 1985 dance one because it has so many massive hits from that year.
From the specialist ones i've done already "1988 Acid House" is a good one and "1987 Deep House And Vocal" mix has some absolute classics on it.
