My Bio
Hi
Here's a central resource for my various music projects and to invite collaborations / explore new ideas with like minded musical souls from back in the day; A melange of sounds and styles that represent ADVENTURES IN SOUND An eclectic and intelligent selection of electronic music across genres from 80-160bpm.
If you like the sounds of Kruder and Dorfmeister, Original Bedroom Rockers, Black Dog, Jah Shaka, Alfredo and / or John Peel, then there should be something here for you somewhere.
If you use any of my mixes etc all I ask is you credit the producer as Adventures in Sound (UK). Thanks!
Pls feel free to make comments, leave mails, offer collaborations, critique/ and / or advice - always learning you know and happy to hear from sensible people with a clue ;-)
AS for my history etc - here goes....................................
I am an independent UK Producer / DJ called ADVENTURES IN SOUND - Essentially coming from an old school promoter background (SECRET SERVICE, INNERVISION, WEEKEND WORLD, LIQUID, TANTRUM to name a few)..then turning a deep love of music to Executive Production on my own tracks in a series of collaborations with One of LTJ Bukem's old skool favourites THE FORCES OF NATURE to produce Sunseeker, White sand beach & Magic Octagon as used on the original Criminal Lifer Brand website by C4 to promote their Crime Spree Season.
A chill out producer who DJ's eclectically across genres from folk to drum and bass and ideal for a festival, chill out or VIP crowd. ; The selection is vast with over 50,000 tunes from the days of Woodstock, right up to unsigned or rare / deleted stuff or simply beautiful acoustic oddities from around the world.
An incredibly diverse taste in the very cream of music the only things I tend to steer away from are the teenage dubstep / grime scene, speed garage, four to the floor house, cheesy Pop - ; To give you an idea of the DJ I am - (Without inferring of course that I am a patch on the names to be mentioned!).
Imagine fusing a bit of Alfredo, with Jon Peel, Giles Peterson, Chris Coco / Rob Da Bank - A splash of 4 Hero, A dash of Janice Long, a just a slither of Terry Wogan ;-) - ECLECTIC
I can mix According to briefs or specific sets from Indie to Drum & Bass but more honestly I prefer to entertain a smaller crowd for a longer time, allowing me the opportunity to take my listeners on a wonderful acoustic adventure from 80 - 160pm - injecting as many of my own re-versions / remixes or bootleg mash ups to the cocktail that is: ADVENTURES IN SOUNDWe do (best) exactly what it says on the tin !

Harder Faster Stronger Part One by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedThose of you that know me or have heard some of my other mixes will know that this is not my normal type of sound.
Generally I don't do that hard commercial or big stadium / Ibiza type of DJ set - Preferring to alternate between a more eclectic laid back (crate diggers style) / Chill out, a Balearic / old's cool set / lovers, rock steady and reggae & even sometimes a lil Dubstep or intelligent D & B.
That said I have literally all sorts in my collection, literally right across the board and a great believer that there is good music within almost all the genres
(If you can be bothered to look hard enough)
... and being as it's a Summers Friday evening with plenty of people out there looking to liven things right up for the weekend ahead I though I would post up a lil remix project that I did at the end of 2011.
It's pretty hard and pretty diverse (crossing a few genres), with quite a few commercial tunes but also jam packed with my lots of my own EXCLUSIVE mash up versions; never heard anywhere else before now!
I also managed to squeeze in a drop of reggae and 80's into the mix along the way but essentially its all about HARD dance floor action this time around ;-)
This is custom crafted tunage for the dance floor, I hope you find something to enjoy!
It's in 2 parts, I'll post the final part next week.
:-)
Summer Of Dub Pt1 of 4 by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedA chilled Eclectic selection (By Producer ADVENTURES IN SOUND) - from mainly the reggae, Lovers & Soothng Dub vibes to suit the summer atmosphere and the perfect background muzak for any impending BBQs that you may be planning! Tremendous low frequency rumblings with angelic harmonies and resonating natural voices over the top of seriously hypnotic and bass driven beats, leaving you no option but to flow with the sun-drenched rhythms of The Summer Of Dub... THIS IS THE FIRST IN A FOUR PART MIXTAPE SERIES - MORE TO FOLLOW...The Key pt1. Dubstep Mixtape Analogue All Stars. by Producer DJ - Adventures in Sounduploaded45 tracks in 80 mins from one half of the Analogue All stars (ADVENTURES IN SOUND). Featuring 5 never heard before custom re-edits and the cream of the more commercial / well known tracks taken DEEP underground by the worlds elite of the finest in Dubstep producers including tracks by: Magnetic Man & Belle Humble, Plan B, Adele. La Roux, Dreadzone & Scrillex to name but a few. This is so dirty if your Mum caught you listening to it, you'd probably find it easier to admit watching hardcore porn! The Lost Epilogue By the Analogue All Stars (7" Preview mix) A collaboration between producers Ra by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedA preview (short 7”mix) of the epic soundscape that is “THE LOST EPILOGUE” the first track to come from the new collaboration of musicians and producers, coming out of the (Leftfield Division) of the stables at the LAB studios in East London. The Analogue All Stars are Aiming to push musical boundaries & fuse genres; this track is an attempt to create music in the style of Orchestral Grime, using intelligent production, lush harmonies and wondrous strings to evoke emotion and create both atmosphere and depth, suitable for a film soundtrack. We sort of based the scene on the end of the classic UK 80's gangster movie "The Long Good Friday" & this is our modern reinterpretation of how we would have composed the soundtrack, if the movie was done today. Essentially we tried to take the spirit of Haunted dancehall by Sabres of Paradise and fuse it with the creative production of the infamous Legendary Underground Producer Black Dog, whilst underwriting the entire feel & mood of the classic scene of London Mob Boss Harold Shands’ (Played by Bob Hoskins) sudden departure from the film, as he is driven away by the IRA. We hope you enjoy it half as much as we enjoyed making it; managing to squeeze in 48 separate tracks into the mix! Look out for the full and luscious 12" mix, coming out soon as a pre-cursor to studio LP later in the year.Special Appointment with Mr. Herbal Nut by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedA diverse leftfield excursion meandering through the finest elements of Electronica. A chilled & laidback mix that just builds and builds to a resounding crescendo! Featuring heaps of rare & hard to find tunes from the vaults of Adventures in Sound; this mix optimised the ethos of the production / DJ work under the same name; DIVERSEMUSIC OF SUBSTANCE--- this mix is most definitely eclectic & stuffed full of low frequency bass rumblings to test your speakers to the max ;-)The Viper - Part One by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedAn old (2005 ‘ish) & extremely chilled but seriously smoking mix from some years ago. The perfect accompaniment to a summers day, BBQ or glorious sunset – If you like your beats leftfield, dubby, broken or just blissed out, u should find something here for you! ? Hope u enjoy!Beatfreakz Retro Megamix Mixtape by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedIf your an 80's child or simply love a bit of retro funk, b.boy beats & UK Oriinal Street Beatz then there is somethin here for you - Somewhere close to 80 tune framents in all 2 create a musical collage & retrospective lance thru some of the music that we grew up to. This mix includes 14 original re-interpretations / mash ups and / or remixes of seminal old skool tunage by ADVENTURES IN SOUND. It's actually a duplicate of the last mix uploaded on here, a mistake caused by the site sometimes being sooooo slow - Aplogies for anyone that wasted the time to download twice! It is also the fifth (and last), for now anyway of the pre mastered / pre studio demo release from "Shaking Trees", the long player demo to be launched later in 2010. It was conceived with the idea of finding something to play at festivals to follow the Skreamz Ravey Mix of La Rouxs' In for the kill... (as I just couldnt get anyting quite fitting enough otherwise!) - So I decided to make one, it took about an hour, hope you like it!Sonic Butterfly by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedSonic Butterfly This is the 5th exclusive track taken of the demo LP “My Mind Melts” and shows the diversity of a truly eclectic producer / DJ with roots across various different genres over the past 30 years involved with a love of music. This is a seriously dreamy and laid back chill out track made for serious smokers everywhere. Sit back, relax and enjoy as I take you on a unique and hypnotic musical excursion through seminal electronica.Pineapple Express by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedThis is the 5th and final offering with regards to "Shaking Trees", for now anyway. This is an experimental and drifting track in its rawest pre production stage and literally represents a single layer upon which you can use as your canvas during sets and to provide a useful interlude in crossing over genres etc. The later release will be much more substanial in nature and feature a series of further vocal samples to fully enhance the potential of the (post mastered) track upon completion. (I hope you managed to find yourself a musical trea somewhere in here???) More new tunes to follow shortly.....Whisky Mist by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedThis is the 3rd exclusive preview from the LP “My Mind Melts” with a chilled broken beat / leftfield excursion and perfect for seriously smoking afternoons in good musical company. Made for VIP and chill out rooms at festivals this pre production sound is both raw and gritty and certain to make those bass speakers rumble almost uncontrollably. One in Ten by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedThis is my remix of another classic seminal 80’s tune which later progressed onto the electronic dancefloor. Once again the bassline is supreme and should get it rocking for your DJ sets. This is the 5th and final preview release from “See with Sound”, a specialist DJ / Remix project which will be released fully in the Summer of 2010.Magic Octagon by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedPreviously released on the chilling on the coast album to launch Criminal Clothing. A chilled, eclectic and dubby dance floor favourite with a totally unique and hypnotic drum pattern this tune was poached by channel four and used to promote their crime spree season in 2000 -2001. This was also a co-production with Forces of Nature.Sun Seeker by Producer DJ - Adventures in SounduploadedThis is an earlier tune in the chill out genre - Made for Sunrise on White sand beach, Koh Chang just before Millennium NY eve. I was executive producer and collaborated with Forces of Nature (Tundra records) and as featured later on LTJ Bukems’ chilled out compilations. Forces of Nature are Tony Reeves (Mantovani) & Chalky White. Ex London and B'mouth UK. God knows where they are now???

My Gear / Equipment
Anything I can muster at the time - very adaptable using samplers / visuals and can arrange stage / lighting production to enhance shows etc. Use Laptop a lot, Like to incorporate it wherever I can. Also CD / Vinyl mixing is cool - Arrange own bootleg remixes to play in sets giving a new take on old dancefloor / chill out favourites.
-
Whats In My Record Bag
Jon Peels Nan (on Acid) - Let her out @ your own risk Seriously though I have a compendium of wonderful sounds from across the world and many rarities to chill or entertain any musically informed crowd - My sound does not work in Pubs / Weddings etc. I like to work in a commercial edge but essentially thrive of playing big / special tune after tune, building to a crescendo of both Bass & big fat beats!
