I have been using induction cooktop all my life and choose to cook on an induction cooktop. In my opinion, I think it is safe to use electric over gas. I always feel like gas can explode someday. It's just the things in life that can happen unexpectedly. So that is one big reason why I stick to electric to let me know I can be safe and don't have to worry about any explosions even though it doesn't happen at all. It's true. Gas has exploded before.
