Disco Knights, the story, is a compilation of 1980's tunes played in garage parties by amateur DJ's in Puerto Rico. In 1981, 3 kids adopted the name Disco Knights in order to play music for their high school parties used by the seniors to raise funds for their Senior Prom. Skets, Ruls & Doguet were the names of these guys who were the first to establish the cassette tape decks for playback instead of turntables. They recorded the mixes at home, and didn't have to bother with turntables later. They just installed the system, mainly composed of domestic Hi Fi from Bose and Technics, hit the play button and enjoyed the dance as well. Later on, this practice were emulated by other DJ's.
Most of these parties were performed in "marquesinas" (garage), but others more elaborated were held at big facilities. The Disco Knights were in high demand and played all around the island. I know the story is true because I was one of them: SKETS!
