I went to the Bounce Festival last week and got totally
inspired. So here is something new from me, this is a total BREAKS Mix. I would love to know what you think. Enjoy!!!!!JAYROCK
This is an old skool ragga jungle explosion that I recorded in 2008, but all the tracks are way older, like 91-94 , in fact kickin off with a moody boys half-stepper from 1990 on XL recordings from before they even had breakbeat hardcore on the label! yeah. Moody Boys (Tony Thorpe) has been back in style with dubstep flavas in the last few years and here's a taste of where he was at 2 decades ago. Moving through some ragga breakbeat bizness from Ragga Twins, Rebel MC (later to formCongo Natty empire) and SL2, before pushing the tempo up through the development of the jungle tekno ardkore sound until we get to the real jungle sounds of Leviticus, DJ Nut Nut and yes, General Levy. Very controversial at the time for some comments he made about how he owned jungle or came up with the formula or some such BS, but time has been kind to this tune and it still sounds wicked. Underground tunes are mixed up with classic outings from Shy FX and Remarc round of the mix in firin style.
