Today's show features a 60 minute guest mix from a Manchester lad whose clubbing life extends way back to 1988 at the Hacienda and The State (lucky bastard!). Mick Andrews caught the DJ bug himself, and had later residencies across the north and still can be heard at the odd old skool event.
He's put together a solid mix of tunes for us - deeper techno flavours around 1990 mostly, but much of it is timeless.
With DJ E. Z. Rock's passing this week, it seems fitting to honour him with a bit of a documentary piece on one of my favourite beat breaks - it featured heavily in lots of late 80s hip house, and was a key component of Rob Base & D.J. E. Z. Rock's "It Takes Two".
So in Part 3, we're going to take a look at the origins and impact of the "yeah, woo" loop.
Hope you enjoy.
