Takes us back to 1994, a time when the Indie/Madchester craze was dying out and House Music was evolving from the underground dance scene into the popular music culture.The Manumission night was started by Mike and Andy in the heart of Manchester city centre. The pre-party was held in the Athenaeum Bar from 8pm, then on to Equinox, an underground nightclub on Bloom street, and finally ending at 6am upstairs in 'La Cage' cafe.Manumission was a breath of fresh air, decor was lavish, entertainment was outrageous and the music was from some of the very best DJs of the time.

A massive piano house anthem from the Deconstruction label. Reached number 32 in the UK singles chart in July 1994.
Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms (Juniour Vasquez Soundfactory Mix)
Known as one of her most notable singles and written by Martin and David Harrow. Reached number 38 in the UK singles chart in December 1994.
Fire Island - There But For The Grace Of God
Fantastic underground track produced by superstar DJs Pete Heller and Terry Farley. Reached number 32 in the UK singles chart in March 1994.
Judy Cheeks - Reach For The Love (Vocal Club Mix)
A 'hands in the air' happy house sound recorded by the goddaughter of Sam Cooke. Reached (no pun intended! LOL) number 17 in the UK singles chart in May 1994.
Kristine W - Feel What You Want
A former 'Miss Washington 1981', Kristine Weitz is a major international recording artiste. This was her second single that she wrote with Rob D. Rollo. Reached number 33 in the UK singles chart in June 1994.
