That 1970's Disco Music has finally returned
This mix was recorded with high quality MP3 music files and mixed on
Serato Viynl and is in tribute to Art Stock's Royal Manor, Wall, New Jersey,
U.S.A. Check out the story behind this mix below. If you enjoy this mix

The Royal Manor was not only the very first disco I went to, but the first bar I went to in during the winter of 1977. Prior to that
I had little interest in drinking or going to bars. Guess you can say life changed for me at the manor. It was where I drank my first
7 n 7, smoked my first joint, met my first girlfriend and fell in love with disco music. That wasn't difficult since I already liked pop
and soul music. The "Manor" was neither fancy or sophisticated, but merely a huge bar with two adjoining rooms. One room featured
local Rock bands while the other featured disco. The resident DJ was Billy Lembo. Bill was a muscular/stocky guy who looked more
like a construction worker than nightclub DJ - unlike today's DJ's who rely more on cuteness and a brand rather than talent. Billy had
alot of soul in his blood and could mix anything from euro disco to funk to soulful disco.
===================================================================================================================
My goal in this mix is to give you a feel of what it was like there... playing music I heard at the "Manor" and only at the "Manor".
That made doing this a challenge. How do you go from Donna Summer to James Brown to Earth Wind and Fire in an 80 minute
mix and not have it sound forced. I think I've managed to do it... giving you sets of various styles of dance music. I'm not trying
to emulate Billy Lembo's style - that's a long time ago and frankly I don't remember how he used his music - only what he played.
==================================================================================================================
Lastly, the last two songs are dedicated to my first girlfriend, Ann Vocoturo. We met at the Royal Manor in November of 1977.
Ann really didn't like disco music and was there to see a rock band playing in the other room. That aside, it would be her who
would strongly encourage me to learn to mix music and thought I would be good at it. We danced twice there. ;Once to Lou Rawl's
- See You When I Get There (she loved his voice) and to Earth, Wind and Fire - That's The Way Of The World... a romantic ballad.
We were two very good looking 19 year old Italians. Ann passed away three years later from Leukemia. This mix is dedicated to
her and anyone who has a memory of someone special.

Hello tks for let me know about your new mix!! yes i agree is the best one.... and i loving it... You are talking about a club you went.... your mix reminds me THE LIME LIGHT in montreal it was the place to be many people compare it to the STUDIO54 in NY.... ok ok we didn't had the celebrities.... LOL LOL but Grace Jones, Gloria Gaynor and others came to give a little show there.... it was fantastic.... If you can find that movie on internet FUNKYTOWN... its a movie base on the LIME LIGHT and filmed in the same building its a mix of real event (the lead role really exist) and some fictional event.... and you will see how it was in montreal at that time... CRAZY!! lo lol... you were talking about your looks at that time... me i was 17y and spend a lot of time to comb my hair and put it in place... now just a wet towel and its done!! loll tis for that wonderful mix!!! keep on the good job!! tks...
