Mix Summary:

Starting out with a melodic techy feel, this mix quickly picks up the energy level as it evolves into a combination of uplifting progressive house with an enhanced funky tech feel to it. Great tracks included in this mix and a great deal of them are songs we are all familiar with but mixed in new fantastic ways This mix is intended to be played at a high volume level with a flat equalizer. No enhancements are necessary except if your sound system is known to be lacking on certain frequency levels.

Dj's Section:

I think the most outstanding feature of this mix is the way that the intensity level is maintained almost right throughout the mix. It also illustrates how BPM and tempo are not the same thing as the BPM constantly stays at 128 but there is a clear change in tempo. The steps on your percussions is a huge determining factor of tempo.

By combining uplifting progressive house tracks with funky and tech house tracks you get a great uplifting mix thats never lacking on beat and keeps you bouncing. Also, as a rule its not common to mix vocals and most djs will try and avoid this, but this mix serves as an exception and demostrates that it is possible to mix vocals without them clashing with each other. The trick is to use tracks with similar toned vocals. Phrasing is key. Harmonics is your friend.

You can expect this sort of mixing to happen during the main djs set. People will most likely have reached a moderate level of intoxication by this time. So the combined vocals will screw with them in a good way and keep their attention focused on the mix. Mixing is maintained roughly 80% of the time and requires great speed, intuative and prediction skills on the dj's part.

Enjoy this great mix in your car, at home, in the gym or just when you want to hear great mixing.

-Jay D
