This mix was actually born from a discussion that Frank Lugo and I had a few weeks ago and through  comments that I read from people who actually download music mixes from other various mediums.

While many people put mixes together for dancing pleasure there is a culture of Roller Skaters who have long been ignored.  Why not put together a mix where the tempo is not so fast but moderate where you can Bounce?  Do you remember Line Skating and just bouncing to a nice moderate beat?   I remember going to Roller Rinks like Empire Roller Rink, United Skates, The Skate Key and Park Circle.  In fact, many of the kids on my block skated, especially the Graham/Beck family and if it were not for them I would have never learned to skate, let alone Dance Skate.  I remember when Park Circle and others closed their doors and how sad I felt when I saw this happening.  Still, the one memory I cherish the most was when I was waiting to be admitted for a skate session at Park Circle and there was a lone skater already on the floor and he was doing a routine to Stars In Your Eyes.  In the middle of his display he nailed a 720 and that image and that song would forever be etched in my memories of skating!  Stars in Your Eyes  was also a favorite of Jackie Beck and it has been a favorite of mine and still is after all these years.  Having said that, this mix is dedicated to her memory, her family, and the Second Street block parties as well!  Hope you enjoy!!!
