The Street Sounds Electro Albums were basically what kick-started my life-long love affair with music.
I have now been DJ'ing for over 25 years & even today I look at these records with astonishing respect, this was the beginning for me and these records are still a huge pillar in my life...
Like a lot of kids back then I was breakin & poppin all over the streets and this was OUR soundtrack.
This stuff was mind-blowing compared to everything else, & the experience completely turned me onto the leftfield music scenes...
From Electro to House & Hip House... to Rave... to Jungle and so on...
The Electro series ran for a total of 27 albums (and one box set)
from 1982 to 1988.
The albums were initially labeled “Streetsounds Electro”
with the title morphing later into “Streetsounds Hip Hop”
Before the Hip-Hop House and the Techno scenes emerged, Electro-Funk was the catalyst for all three & the impact and influence of this pivotal 80’s underground movement would sow the seeds of the UK dance revolution.
Every track in this mix is taken from
The StreetSounds Electro album's 1 2 3 & 4
&
Mixed Live & Direct by myself & it gives me great pleasure to release this Definitive Collection of TRUE CLASSICS!
Watch out for Vol 2 Coming soon with tracks from :

Hail To The King DJ-F
Now we are talking Music. I still have these albums and the box sets on vinyl. And you have done a brilliant mix here. Listening to this have made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
1 more reason to buy a better sound (=..... and another pound of weed
This is all new to move, as in those days I was a 9 to 5 man then at 50 I walked out of my marriage and found myself living in a tent in Regensburg, Germany, so a journey of discovery and loving it.
a perfect track selection for an old school trip.
this is amazing, truly a spectacle, and it shows that as good a dj you are, that your musical brain is at the highest level.
i have defiled my pants, party station.
Word up !!!!!!!
fresh man
Right i bloody give up.lol. iv tried playing this a few times now on mobile and my connection keeps being a bitch after a few mins. Il come back later on laptop.
Was wondering how many tunes from my old 80's mix might also be on this one,and only 4 are..But then i didnt stick to just using these electro albums tho. As always loads of these old tunes are a pre cursor for some of the house and hardcore tunes that followed.Loads of samples that went on to be used..Prodigy used Capt Rock for 'out of space' and i just remembered another one on here, the vocal in 'zena on the upside' is the vocal used on an old hardcore track 'sy kick on the upside'
Well i was still a kid in a very conservative SA (lol)when this was doing rounds so I can honestly say I don't recognize any of it. Kinda reminds me of Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer from the 90's....lol...I loved that stuff as a kid although it was kinda taboo in most households...haha. I can hear the resemblance to hip-hop,rap and electro ... but for me I found my roots more towards the disco American styles. I think "90's rave" or oldschool techno is where all these genre's met...but everyone can debate about this for days on end...I guess it's whatever appealled to us all most when we started off. I'm just glad and feel privileged to have been part of this culture's birth and all the wonderful things going along with it. Like the rockers and hippies of the 70's you know. Who know were this music will take our children....damn...that sounds corny hahahah... I enjoyed the lesson and encourage all dance music lovers to have a listen. :) Nice 1 F
omg ! some good memories cheers , more please

this shows a creative tab of the brain that only a few can appreciate, and even if not familar it has to be respected, its only deserving a nasty fuckkaaaaa, like you puts this together in such a great way only you can sometimes lay down, huge ups to you for lacing this for us, str8 up chief rocka cuts Mr F,.,..
yeah yeah omg i remember these albums got some in the loft, electro 1 had Roxane shante she was like 13, i remember a old battle with her and Frukwan, as some may know Frukwan went on to be a member of the gravediggers associated with WU Tang
Oh Yes,thankyou

its the same for me m8, as i started dj-ing when i was 12 because of these records and i am still at it at 40. as the albums say, electro is aural sex, and there couldn't be a more truthful statment,
