It was a year ago today that Open Decks unofficially began, with only two contributors and hardly an audience to appreciate the selection. However, the next month the event officially made its mark on Vortex, with the first 5 official contributors turning the Sunday night into the new Saturday. The event continued to have an overwhelming response from contributors and supporters, turning it into a favourite daytime party amongst our small party scene. January 2015 Open Decks birthday special was the return of the players, who played their vinyl selection last year and were eager to have a second play on the turntables. To start off this recording live from The Vortex Downstairs, Open Decks Miss Soxee warms up for the contributors with an eclectic mix of Disco, Funk and Reggae.
