It's well worth your time if you've ever spent some time with the Calexico vibez to visit here. The Black Light album (1998) is the one I got turned onto back in my early 30s. This mix captures the southwestern and loner/desolate feel that the band displays. The vocals are authentic without lyrically or emotionally overpowering the listener. The vintage use of instruments that Clint Eastwood fans would recognize from his 60s westerns are what draw you. This gives you dusty landscapes, spicy aromas, a cracked-throat thirst, all with the isolation and yearning for something else.
