My Bio
I started collecting vinyl in 1984 the first tune I purchased was: Your the one for me - D Train. ;And I think the second I bought was ET Boogie, LOL. ;I had already inherited a small stack of 7 inches from down Jamaica way from my dad! I also became a sound boy the same year and toured with the mighty SAXON (A1) Sound system, After being introduced to Hip Hop via Wild Style the movie and seeing Africa Bambaata & SSF perform in London, by 1987 I was a break beat collector/hunter and well known for putting on some 'heaving' hip hop parties until I grew weary of the scene because things started to get a little moody so, along came acid house!
My legacy to the UK Hip Hop scene is URBAN REVENGE. I wish to thank the London Posse, Overload X, Monie Love, the Cookie Crew, the She Rockers, Demon Boys, DJ Fingers and MC Crazy Noddy, MC Duke, MC Noise, Freshski & Mo Rock, The Power Lords, Dave Cash C, Westwood, Rock Box, Gremlins, Mark Ross, the Cash Crew, MC Drew, DJ's Pogo, Cut Master Swift, ;MC Blade and MC Merlin, Yankee. And all of the Breakers and Street Dancers. We put on events that are still talked about to this day. ;R.I.P. SIPO, DROME 2 & COSMIC JAM
By 1988 I hit the pirate radio scene I was resident on Groove FM, Centre Force FM and Dance FM using my skills and beats acquired from hip hop turntablism I incorporated Hip House tunes to my domain such as ;'Tyree Cooper & Doug Lazy'. ;I played guest sets on stations north, east, west and south London and Essex. ;I was also the first person to interview Frankie Bones 'Brooklyn Beats' live on UK radio. ;During this time I had got involved in various projects and distributed my own tunes. In the years leading up to 1990 the scene progressed rapidly towards what became known as 'Hardcore'! RIP DJ HMS
My next notes on this journey will contain my claim to being in the studio at Centre Force FM a the very time when Jungle music was born and artists such as Daddy Freddy, General Levi and Navigator brought dance hall vibes to dance music in London and the UK...... Twitter: Originsyx
