Budda Jenkins Hippy / Raver from day 1 and Founder of XTC Radio UK HI-Frequency & soon BassBin! I got that name Budda from a very pretty Girl called Lou at Sunnyside UP! She was a Sunnysider ! If you came to Sunnyside UP you was given the name of Sunnysider!! Lou was there every week! I must say Thank You to Mr Winston Young & Family the Owner/Promoter of Sunnyside Up & all the Sunnys Crew and SW1 Staff for the greatest Sunday Morning Church Service for Hippy’s, Ravers, Clubbers & Party People! <<>> Sunnyside UP! @ SW1 Club, Victoria Stn, London UK! Open Sunday 9am – 10pm 1993 – 2012 <<>> Sunnyside UP was Religion! Sunnysiders are Family! By 2pm Sunday afternoon 1200+ People of all ages, Nationality & walks of life came to Sunnyside UP and RAVED! The atmosphere when you opened the door to enter SW1 was!! You have to live to feel it!! I am now 54 years old! I was at the very last when we all got hammered at The Battle the bean filed “Stonehenge in 1984″ and been in the Rave and Club scene since I was born!! My adopted father had a Piano in our front room which he played every day, he also played the drums, my auntie Dinky was a singer and other family members were all doing some thing with music. Music was a big party of my childhood! In 1977 I was a DJ of Jazz Funk, at the Lacy Lady, Ilford. There I was working with Tom Holland who took over from Chris Hill! (Chris Hill was the Producer of Boom Town Rats) I also worked with DJ Froggie and many others in and around London! This was the beginning of the Rave scene! For me and many others this is were is all started! I started Raving after meeting Danny the Hat in 1984-85 (I bet a few of you know him or know of him) he used to promote, or should I say Organized the llegal Raves / Partys back in the day! When it was in old warehouses and fields and took you 10-30 phone calls to get to the venue, as it got to the days of the police crashing in and stopping all the raves and saying that we was all evil, drug crazy people, and the music was a damage to our brains, making us go crazy because of the repetitive music. This was hurting people they said! OK TWATS!! The government then pushed us all into Clubs! The government wanted there CUT OF THE SCENE!!! Thats was the only reason why they Pushed us all into Clubs!! Club UK! Wansworth, London UK! Was one of the the 1st Clubs to get a swarm of us Ravers/Clubbers! Club UK! One of the best Clubs! Club UK had an atmosphere of its own just like Sunnyside UP! The DJs here were Biko, Steve Harvey, Graham Gold, Steve Proctor, Fabio Paras, Paul Kelly, The Firm Selectors etc. Club UK Got raided and after hard work by its owners to keep it open it finally closed down! I also had some wicked times at Hollywood’s Romford!. Hollywood’s had a little thing going on. With Danny Gould and Andy Manston called “Clock Work Orange” (Banging Nights here) with Tony Grimley, Judge Jules (before his Radio 1 days) Graham Gold, and many more DJs, too many to add Oh yeah remember Lisa Loud! Oi Oi HGV Truck Driver was my work for many years, 15 years International raving along the way. I have raved in many countries. When I didn’t Truck it around Europe I would Taxi Drive around London. In 1995 I started work as a mini cab driving for A1 Taxis Romford. The taxi office was Right next Door to Hollywood’s! I got myself a bedsit and moved in with 3 girls, and here I meet up with Daniel Killick! Dan he was 19 years old then, Dan was the light jock at Hollywood’s, and we just clicked big time! We used to work till around 3-4am, then we would hit London City for some Hard House! We would always go to Victoria Stn London on a Sunday Morning, for around 8am. Here we would meet up with Sunnysiders for breaky and get ready for the start of Sunnyside UP at 9am! (Those faces walking towards which had been raving for the last 2 days were priceless pics! (I will never for you) that will never be found, no were again, I am so proud to have seen them all! And be A part of Sunnyside UP and become a Sunnysider!!! My Family! Oi Oi !!! Sunnyside UP DJs: Skol, Rooster, Drew, Darren Pearce, Vivien Markey, Bongo Pete, Chris Ruffstuff, Brad Clark, Jeff Cannons, Mark Woollhead, Kelly, Mazey, Kenny Stone, Spencer Feeland, Darren Poole, Paul Johnson, Muzz Muzz, Simon Hill, Tony De Vit (RIP), Pete Wardman, John oo Fleming, Phil Reynolds, Sunnyside UP Was a religion, a Family, a Community! The atmosphere here was just outstanding and will never be matched again! I meet so many people, all sorts of walks of life, many DJs etc.. At SW1 its unreal to say how manu over them years, but I would thinks its in the thousands! When 10pm came I would then move on to Fevha at The Tube till 3am, here I meet up with Eamonn & Aron the owners of this WICKED Promotion called Fevah! Which started Fevah Records for them. We did go to many other clubs that was in the City Of London, playing wicked hard house. Twisted was one! When Fevha finished at 3am we would then move on to Club 414 at Brixton SW9 till Monday morning! (Always finished up @ the Club 414) DJ Skol, Rooster and Muzz Muzz always made that place ROCK! Till 8am / 9am Oi Oi We would then go on to The Joiners Arms in Hackney! At Sunny’s we meet up with Douglas Goodfellow, now DJ Doug EG! We would also go to Frantic! Then it was at Bagley’s and The Rocket Club! We used to go to the Leisure lounge, Camden Palace (Love that Venue) Ministry of Sound (Now gone all commercial!! Shame) Strawberry Sundae, Fahrenhite, Just Groove, Sanctuary, Bagleys, Tinrib, Tidy, The Joiners Arms!, Mind Over Matter, Channel Club aka Hidden, Leisure Lounge and many more Clubs many are listed on my Home Page( I am sure I have miss some out). Were there was hard House being mixed, we would go! I still got the Love, passion and tits for it! The most important thing is the Love and the Feelings that eveyone gives out!! You do not see Fights, poeple being glassed, guns, knifes etc etc!! These are Rave with Ravers! If a Fight broke out, it was more to do with some outsider being DRUNK!! or a COCK!! It was very very RARE! and it would be stopped in a few seconds not mins!! I Love Hard House, Clubbing and Raving is a Community! A way of life for me. My First Love his Hard House & NRG In 1999 I started XTC Radio UK! I moved to Devon in that year. I moved here because of my ex-wife became mentally ill and I had to take on my two daughters on my own, Maruska & Corina! It was my Daughters, It was our new start out of London I started XTC Radio from my bedroom in Devon! DJs that I meet in Devon would come and play at my home! I could not get the Music out of me. I could not let go! I found many free parties going on in Devon (which was WICKED!!) fields, farms, warehouses, houses etc. My Daughters were 5 and 6 years old then. They used to come with me; they loved it!! (I did sneak them into Sunnyside Up one time, under my coat, one at a time, so they can say that they are Sunnysiders, thanks to Big Danny on the door) as there were many families at these free parties, with young children, my Girls really enjoyed it! (We still talk about them days now) Camp fires, fire eaters, jugglers and Ravers N Families just partying and having and real good time! But there was something missing for me! I was missing the London’s atmosphere I really wanted XTC Radio UK to do well! Frantic was on, so I contacted Will Frantic Paterson and asked him if I can record Frantic and air it on XTC Radio UK. Will agreed (Nice 1 Will) and away I went. I then got introduced to Ed Real and BK! I knew off BK (who didn’t) and Riot at The End was just starting (WOW) Riot was WICKED!! And they let me record Riot! Thanks guys Oi Oi \o/ Things were ok but I needed to be with my girls, I had to sort out my Daughters first, so I stopped XTC Radio UK and put my Daughters first and have done for the last 10 years. Maruska now 20 and has just came a mum herself and Corina as completed her college course and is now a carer. I also had another go at relationship’s (he we go again)and from that I now have 3 super little BabiEs which I see every 2 weeks (things don’t always work out our how you expect them to) Keira 6 years old, Jack 4 years old and Charlie 3 years old xXx I now say that my time has NOW COME before it’s too late! My health is not very good and it is only a matter of time before my back stops working and my days of walking and raving are over! I have a problem with my back which is Degenerative dysfunction of the disks with transient Nerve Irritation! (My back is Fooked I have 8 children in total and I love them all crazy! And they are who I live for! And why I make XTC Radio UK & HI-Frequency! This Radio Station is for them! We had talks and I decided to start up XTC Radio UK Again in 2010 So here we are XTC Radio UK is Reborn! I pay for all of the costs out of my own pocket For XTC Radio UK “all for the Love of Hard House & Dance Music” The Scene and Super atmosphere That You Can Not Beat! I must say that I have lost the plot in the past, not just once but a few and I think we all have at some point gone down this road. All you have to do is hold your hands up when you have done wrong and say sorry! \o/ and learn from it and come back has a better person!! I did Big time!!
