This mix means a lot to me. I put it together back in 1997, after listening to Scott Hardkiss play his masterful Essential Mix. I quickly tracked down some of the tunes he showed us - this magical God Within stuff! Wow. Gotta have some of that. It is also the first mix I really nailed. Recording on a tape. Yeah, old skool! I sent this demo out to Muzik Magazine which ran monthly competitions called Bedroom Bedlam. Winners have included Youssef and James Zabiela! I was placed 4th that month, so not bad for a snotty teenage fucking about with the vinyl!
Anyway, back to the mix. We start off with some deep/tribal progressive house, then move into some more pumping clubbier tracks. This moves onward between house and bassy tracks and starts to introduce some breaks. There's a fun big-beaty bit then we finish up with some cracking drum and bass. A bit of a musical journey. Love it!
