Opening this week with the original b-side to "French Kiss" (which did not make it to the final release), this is a fine slice of deep and trippy acid house. Later in the segment is a great rework of another stellar house anthem, 'the anthem' to be precise - Marshall Jefferson's 'Move Your Body'. Think I'll be playing more reworks on the show - I love seeing what today's artists do with music of old. Segment 2 opens with a few remixes from the American remix service - Razormaid Records, which released tracks on subscription only to professional DJs. I've got a few - my local record shop subscribed, but they were expensive - about double the price of a standard 12" and as a double pack it meant you were paying about $60 to get a track... but you were almost guaranteed to be the only one in town with that mix. They did remixes of all genres, but it was their early German/Belgium new beat and techno selections that got my attention. And finally, following the good reception to the other side of the tape, here's Melbourne legend Will-E-Tell in the mix dropping peak time anthem after anthem as only Will could.

Today we open up with a great piece of bleepy techno courtesy of Autechre (off their first LP, "Lego Feet") and move onto some quality house courtesy of Sasha and The Absolute - the second being a tune championed by local hero Jayse Knipe for some years. A killer blend of acid funk and diva house if ever there was one. Part 2 sees another guest mix courtesy of Holland's Kelvin Hulsebos - this one is a nicely paced selection of housier grooves and includes some real gems. You can get more of his stuff at http://www.mixcloud.com/kelvin72/ and https://soundcloud.com/kelvin72. Don't forget, Back In A Constant Groove loves receiving guest mixes, so if you want submit one just email me at backinaconstantgroove@gmail.com... remember 30/60/90 minute lengths and 320kb sound quality please. Finally, I feature another of Max Dodge's reworked classics (more of him at https://soundcloud.com/maxdodge), some Nu Groove techno, some 1992 Belgium rave and a great bit of chilled tech house to finish the week. Hope you like it. Cheers.

This week we open with the long trip that is 'Tantra', an extended mix of tribal mystic eastern trance techno bizness off the Sabres Of Paradise imprint, and follow that with a tune off Laurent Garnier's first release - and a fine bit of house it is too. Part 2 of the show opens with a little hip hop megamix made by Doug Lazy in the mid-80s using reel to reel tape to make much of the edits. Clever, and a good precursor to the kind of energy he brought to his later hip house efforts. And that follows with hybrid electro-house tunes by the likes of The Beat Club and The Force. Final act sees a bit of techno and acid house, and the very entertaining porn skit (Lawanda Page/Leroy & Skillet from "Back Door Daddy") that forms the root of Kenny Dope's 'Big Bottom Lawanda'... Funny as... And the show finishes with Epitome Of Hype, early UK Hardcore of the highest order.
