Cheers. Happy New Year!
I never planned on putting this one online ever. However I guess I'm a complete moron and much too optimistic about my future (aka I put this online for a girl who I thought might like it, I'm a fucking idiot).
I originally made this for a shitty part time summer job working a music ride at the shore. I mainly wanted to teach the idiot patrons on the boardwalk the joy of good dance music, plus I have a thing for amusement rides ever since I was a kid. I only worked there for two days before I got fed up with the fact that the Russians working the ride with me couldn't understand English or keep their feet on the Dead Pedal (releasing the Dead Pedal makes the ride stop prematurly) which I felt was a major safety hazard. Not to mention one of the trackspot lights suspended above was wiggling and about to fall yet the management couldn't care less. Later on a simmilar indoor Eli Bridge MFG "Scrambler" ride had a fatal accident up in Rye Playland, NY. I'm glad I avoided that potential disaster because it would have happened on this one too.
I made this mix to play on the ride at the time but it actually never got played on it. The Russians on the pier loved happyhardcore so I figured I'd reach out to them with this mix while still playing the awesome amen based HHC tunes. Unlike most of my mixes, this one is made from entirely from Happy Hardcore compilation CDs that I encoded as .wav files into my computer and sequenced using Acid Pro. It was extremely difficult teaching each track what the correct BPM was. Vinyl mixing is so much easier then this.
I named the mix after "Cheese Quake" state park. I sware I previously heard the term describing Happyhardcore Compilations. Plus in 1992 Mickey Finn had a Hands in the air piano based Happyhardcore track called "Bassquake". Everytime I'm on the Garden State Parkway I can't help but to shout out "Cheeese QUAKE! ! ! !" when I pass the signs.
Here is the tracklisting as I could figure it out after all these years:
