Dubstep Competition 2014 Read all the rules and competition terms before submitting your entry
Dubstep Competition 2014CLOSED: This competition has ended
Here are the TOP 3 winners in the Dubstep Competition 2014:
1st place - DJ-F
Genetix's motivation: "His mix was well thought out with plenty of well timed cutting to keep you interested. At times his chopping makes 2 tracks sound like one totally new track. Interesting and creative and a great take on modern day mixing. Deservedly first place."
2nd place - Hit-Girl
Genetix's motivation: "Although nothing groundbreaking the mix was smooth and tight all the way through. The track selection was also very good. Sometimes all you need is good transitions that allow for the tracks to be appreciated."
3rd place - jerksauceproject
Genetix's motivation: "We enjoyed the majority of his track selection being big dub/reggae fans ourselves. It was a nice break from the heavier selections of the first and second places. Mixing was good considering this style is sometimes trickier to blend."

HOW THE JUDGING WORKS:

5 entrants will be shortlisted to become finalists – these 5 will then go into a 2nd stage where special guest judge Genetix will listen to the finalist’s mixes and the Top 3 winners will be chosen.
IMPORTANT! If the mix doesn't match the rules, it will be disqualified. So make sure you read the rules carefully before submitting your mix!
Genetix is the combination of two people, Matt Sharp and Rich Dawson. The pair started out producing D&B in late 2006 under various alias's and built up a large catalogue of vinyl and digital releases. Having produced their fair share of D&B they decided to try their hands at dubstep. Their debut production "Squid Attack" caught the attention of the scene in a big way with support from the likes of Nero, Sub Focus, Flux Pavillion and Funtcase amongst many others. The track was released late 2010.
Since then the duo have continued to raise the bar with many vinyl and digital releases across all aspects of dubstep. A collab with Funtcase and some of their solo tracks saw releases on Circus Records amonst others. Their remix shedule has been a hectic one to say the least with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Timabaland, Drumsound and Bassline Smith and Aquasky under their belts. Genetix's deeper productions have also made a big impact with support from Youngsta, J Kenzo, Skream and Benga, N-Type & Walsh amonst many others. Genetix also completed 3 daily dose's of dubstep for Mista Jams 1xtra show.
It's 2013 and Genetix have launched their own label "Big Tuna" The first release entitled "$$$ Ep" saw support from Skream and Benga on radio 1 and reached no.7 in the beatport chart. You can expect to see many more releases in future from the Big Tuna camp.
It's safe say Genetix are smashing it and will continue to do so!
