This is a mix inspired by Simon "Bassline" Smith's Rutlands Vol.1 mixtape tracklist. Only the
tracklist as I never heard the tape. I like the idea that I can just google search
tracklists from famous DJs and make a mix inspired by it. This way I can get a sound
close to the DJ that I want to hear. I actually bought Trace + Bukem "Teach me to Fly" and
HNR003 just for this mix idea. The last track was inspired by The Hardcore Rhythm Team who
banned the sale of their own repress of "Do U C The Light" on Discogs. Nice guys...
(sarcasm). I never liked the original as the track was ruined by the piano which was not
in key with the rest of the track. They also didn't bother to de-pop the Singing in The Rain
intro (I think its from that...) which was pretty poor. At any rate I think the "It's
Brutal" riff and Simon Smith's own SOH bits sound nicer.
Maybe someone will appreciate this and say "thank you"? I know one person who won't and
thats "Bunkerheadz" in the discogs forum. A forum which I am frikken done with.
Ohh this is funny.... I wanted cover art with that classic Dreamscape type 3D grid. I
couldn't find any online that suited me so I googled a tutorial on how to make one
from scratch in photoshop. Well that worked. Now I know how to make very simple
vector graphics in photoshop. Pretty cool.

ekkee, have you seen a tracklist for that Simon Smith mix you mentioned? I've mainly been finding inspiration from the tracklists posted on the toxic website called "rolldabeats". I will never post there but I enjoy reading the tracklists. I also made a part 2 of this mix as well as a Top Buzz tribute based on the tracklists posted there.
