This one is part 5 of my Summer Vibe series.  This one comes from the last big batch of records I would buy from my friend Chris Julio.  By this time he was really into early drum and bass from 1993 and so this mix reflects that.  Soon after this he would loose interest with the music all together and he was really into it to the point that he pressed his own tune to vinyl.  This tune is also in this set, I'm not sure what he called it but you will know it by the tune that samples "Tender Love" by Jimmy Jam and Terry Louis (as heard in the excellent movie "Krush Groove").

I don't know if its by design or what but it seems the last tune of one of these Summer Vibe sets predicts what the next years Summer Vibe will be.  In this case this set ends with Doc Scott's Last Action Hero and next years set was all dark and moody.

Theres no tracklist for this one.  All these tunes were brand new to me, I never heard them before this mix.  I didn't know the names of them then, and I still don't know what most of them are.  I remember some highlights such as a tune DJ Hype did called "Police in Helicopter", another one along the same theme called "Call the Kops", a Pete Namlook track that samples Ice-T on FAX records, a nice 1992 track called "Story Teller", a track on the flip side of a "Call the Kops" remix that sounds like an early Steve Carr (Digital) track called "Paradise" (but I'm sure its not him), and Foul Play "Finest Illusion" on Section 5.  Chris actually gave me the "Finest Illusion" record for free because he knew I was after it for so many years and on several occasions I got ripped off trying to buy it.  It was really the wild west trying to buy records from UK sellers in the days before Ebay and Paypal.

Thats pretty much it.  The cover art comes from my new at the time DMX lighting board called "Xciter" by Martin Professional.  For 2k, its a bargin as its loaded with pro features that are usually found on boards costing 30k and it runs circles around those old Lightwave Research LCD controlers.  They've since discontinued this product as they usually do.  If this thing dies on me I'll have to buy an inexpensive version of the  Whole Hog 4 for my studio.
