Over two weeks my radio show 'Back In A Constant Groove' celebrated the underground techno of 1994, when French DJ and producer extraordinaire, Mr. Laurent Garnier, first graced Melbourne's decks at Hardware #5 - the first techno rave to be held at the infamous Shed 14 in the Docklands.
20 years have passed since then, but it is still one of the greatest DJ sets I've heard - a revelation. Garnier weaved together music from all genres into one continuous set of techno-powered excellence, and had as much fun doing it for us as we had dancing to it.
He played for 5 hours that night, everything from house to mind melting acid to hard trance to banging techno. But everything joined into one long track.
I've combined both shows into one 3 hour mix - so giddy up.
