So... This mix. This mix was supposed to be my biggest project ever. I wanted to commission artwork, write a story, and have voice actors who also sang. However, along with a lot of things happening in my life since the beginning of this project, I just didn't have the means to do all of that. I didn't have the money, the time, or the audio editing skills to pull off something like that. So this has been semi-completed for years.
I started this project during one of the worst times of my life. Some time in either 2012 or 2013. File dates say 2013, but I might have started it before even that. I continued it a while later, but ended up dropping it due to my high expectations. It was kind of doomed to fail, I guess. Despite that, I'm still really proud of this mix. I love the transitions, it's the only mix that follows an actual story, and it has great meaning to me personally. I think this is the greatest mix I've ever made, despite the fact that it's "outdated" musically.
This was also supposed to be the first in a three-part series. This would have been the first in chronological order. The second mix was in the works, but was never finished. The third was to be a mix I've already done called "The Revolution." I planned on remaking "The Revolution" when the time came.

Like I said, this mix has a story. Instead of finding the time to write it myself (which, by the way, I am a terrible writer) I'm going to write a short version of it here.

Act 1:
Once upon a time, in a magical world, there was a boy and a girl. The two grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same school, and were great friends. However, as time went on, the boy ended up falling in love with the girl.
He didn't fully realize his love for her until they were spending a night together under the stars talking about their dreams. The girl stood up, threw her arms outwards, and said, "My dream is to fly one day. Not with machines, but with my own will... If only I could fly."
As they mature, their studies go beyond "grade school," and they end up being in the same field doing different things. Their field of study is what's known as "Dark Magic," a forbidden form of magic that warps body and mind. However, their goal is not to use it, just study it and learn how to defend against it. The woman studies the actual magical science behind Dark Magic, while the man learns the alchemy part of it.
By this time, the man's love for the woman is immense. Despite being with her for many years, he has never been able to tell her his feelings. The woman, however, has shown no romantic interest in the man. All he wanted was a sign from her. The man begins to go slightly mad, going around in mental loops on what he should do, until he finds a way around it all.
During his studies, he found the recipe for a Love Potion. A potion that sounds so simple is classified as illegal Dark Magic alchemy. He wondered, "How is this Dark Magic? How can something so nice as a potion of Love be Dark Magic?" So, he begins to brew the potion.
He has the plan, the potion is made, and he follows through. The potion is slipped into a drink meant for the woman, and she takes it. Over the next few days, she slowly becomes more openly romantic with him, and within the week, they become a couple.
Act 2:
There's not much to put for this act. Their relationship flourishes as a year goes by. They fall more and more in love to the point where marriage is talked about. Even their careers are going extremely well. All seems perfect, until...
Act 3:
As fast as all of this seemed to go well, it fell apart. Out of nowhere one day, the woman became cold. From asking him to go away for a while, to outright ignoring him.
"This isn't right," the man said to himself. "Something's wrong. This isn't how it's supposed to be!"
The woman, as the man had done, had delved into Dark Magic farther than she should. Back when he gave her the Love Potion, she knew what he was doing. She had heard of the potion before he did, and he wasn't the best at hiding his intentions. She just didn't say anything about it, and took the potion out of pity. As time continued, however, what was just a simple curiosity became much more. The Dark Magic slowly, and quietly, started to warp her mind. It consumed her, and she was no longer the same person.
She pushes him away further, and further, until she isn't there anymore. She's gone. He's all alone once again. No one to love anymore. The silence begins to destroy him. He isolates himself from the rest of the world and screams.
During his isolation, the woman becomes more and more powerful. She destroys everything in her path for more knowledge of Dark Magic until she becomes one of the most powerful beings in the world. Twisting the world around her, she goes on a rampage.
The woman hears the man's screams as she begins her chaos. She telepathically responds to him, mocking him. "I hear you calling, but you will no longer get anything from me. Oh, were you hurt? I wouldn't care if you died! Everything you did all these years, was it really worth it?"
The woman continues to mock him. "You really are pathetic. Did you really think the L0v3 PoTļoN worked? I love your screams. Your tears. I can feel them from here. It's so good, I'm going to lose myself. So good! Let me lose myself!"
The man does not move. He cannot move. He has become soulless.
The woman is now more powerful than almost any force on the planet, and she begins to burn the world to the ground. Flying is no longer enough for her.
As the years go by, the man slowly regains some of his mental being. He is also not the same person anymore, but he becomes able to move once again. He walks out of his isolation into a Dark world. As far as his eyes could see, the earth was charred. He wondered to himself if the woman really had the power to do such a thing. His worries were confirmed when he found her on her empire of dirt. He couldn't stand to see that happening, and he wasn't going to let it happen any longer. He showed himself to her. "I can't let you continue on with this, Luna! It's time we ended this Darkness! Stand down or I will fight you!"
Woman:
Hush
Do you see what I see?
Do you hear what I hear?
Do you feel what I feel?
Man:
Stop
I feel you in my brain
I feel your hands around
My soul is stolen again
When I’m in the spell

Consuming my lungs
