Jon Wang - Pt. 1 of 2 in this 2 part series of DJ mixes that no one got to listen to - Lost / M.I.A. @ Space Hippies

Ok so let me start at the beginning so that you can have a better understanding of what's up with this mix title. See several months ago I was booked to play this annual party called Space Hippies that this guy Jello throws & I was more than happy to reprise my set nay to exceed my performance from the previous year so of course i said yes when he asked. now then scooting forward to last night - when the event went down or at least I assume it did. Why the assumption you may be asking , well that's because I couldn't find the location of the party & I was supposed to play twice on 2 different stages with 1 set at sunrise using 100% all vinyl and the 2nd was going to kick off a different stage to begin the 2nd day of the 3 day campout party where I was supposed to be playing on a traktor rig for the 1st time ever & i was so ready for it too just to be able to show everyone that yes i can use it as well i just choose NOT to do so because I LOVE vinyl.

Now the reason I couldn't find the spot was all my fault & I accept that i have no one to blame but myself for missing this past gig (an ultra rare occurance for me - probably happening less than a dozen times over the past 24 years of DJ'n). & I did try everything I could think of to get myself there too, like calling everybody I knew who was already out there but I couldn't get anyone one the phone to ask for directions due to a lack of cell phone coverage in that area. I'd also been driving around looking for the place for a little more than a couple of hours so not only was i missing my set time i was driving up a whole tank of gas in the process as well. I do want to apologize to the promoter - Jello - for my unprofessionalism when I was unable to do what I'd said I would & rock his attendees & all I can say is it wont happen again (if you're ever generous enough to offer another gig to me & if you dont i shall totally understand your position on that too. if only my 1st navigator hadn't decided to back out because she was too tired, I mean I can't fault her for that nor can i lay blame on the backup navigators who had left for the party before I got to their house not knowing I didn't have anyone helping me to get out there (& believe me a map still wasn't good enough for some as I had more than a couple of people call me on their way out there who were as lost as i was about to become myself.) I might've actually found it too had I written down the directions myself so i'd have something more than the memory of driving out there from last year (& a fat lot of good it did me as you can tell.) But you can't dwell on the could'ves, should'ves and would'ves either because no one could have known that the series of events that transpired up to this point was all culminating into my "perfect storm" that was about to drop buckets full of rain on my parade, right?    So that's it that's the story and the reason that the 2 mixes I'll be posting today were 2 of my sets that no one got to hear at Space Hippies 7.

So I hope that some of you will now seize this chance to listen to part 1 of 2 in this 2 part series now & as always  - Enjo!

downloading your mix, I hate you couldn't find location. I was out there last year, this year I could not make it due to me working at Amazon. I will jam your mix in my ride to work this afternoon. Love you brother
