After enjoying UK chart success with hits ’ Hi Tension ’ and ’ British Hustle ’ for Island Records in 1978 Joseph left the band for a solo career.He had a big hit with the classic ’ You Cant Hide Your Love ’ in 1982 before slipping from view.
The Ohio Players were an American funk and R&B band, most popular in the 1970s. They are best known for their double #1 hit songs "Fire" and "Love Rollercoaster".Gold certifications, records selling at least one million copies, were awarded to the singles "Funky Worm," "Skin Tight," "Fire," and "Love Rollercoaster;" plus to their albums Skin Tight, Fire, and Honey. The tracks here come from their 1981 album Ouch!
Heatwave were an international funk/disco musical band. Touring the London nightclub circuit billed as Chicago’s Heatwave during the mid-1970s allowed them to refine their sound, adding a funk groove to disco beats. In search of a fuller sound vocally, Johnnie Wilder called upon his brother Keith Wilder (who was performing in a local band in Dayton, Ohio) to join the band on vocals. The group signed to GTO Records in 1976. They were paired in the studio with GTO house producer/session guitarist Barry Blue and rhythm guitarist Jesse Whitten.
Central Line were a post-disco, pop and jazz-funk group, based in London, England. They recorded three albums for Mercury Records in the 1980s, and had two hit singles in the United States as well as one Top 40 success in their native country.
Jimmy Ross Also known as Mel Turner - Singer from Trinidad who teamed up with the Italians of Kano to write the disco anthems "First True Love Affair" (remixed by Larry Levan) and "Fall Into A Trance". Surprisingly, Jimmy Ross used to live in Belgium in the 1970s, recording for the country singer and amusement park owner Bobbejaan Schoepen. Jimmy Ross passed away in 2000
