The Twilo was a fantastic club in NYC.  I went there on a fair number of occasions and I always
had a great time.  Even if I went by myself I would have found people I knew there just by chance.
The club mainly featured techno, tech-house, and trance.  Jungle was not so much featured here however
the one time DJ Hype actually showed up at a party he was booked at, I could not go as I had the Flu.

I remember a few nights in particular.  Darren Emerson from Underworld and Carl Cox was the first
time I was there.  I even got to shake Carl Cox's hand as I of course loved him from the 1992 days and
I also really appreciated him for what he was doing at the time, playing great tech-house sets.  I
had just bought a mix CD on moonshine called "The sound of the ultimate base" and I was really impressed
to hear tracks on that CD played at the Twilo loud.

Another occasion I went there to see the Steve Stoll Live PA.  It was very live for sure as he made
many mistakes with bringing in loops off measure which I actually really enjoyed.  If he was completely
on point, it would have been hard to tell that the music making was live.  He also gave out
blunted boy wonder LP branded rolling papers which was a nice touch.

Probably the only bad time I had there was when I saw Jeff Mills.  The management overpacked the club
to the point that it was impossible to dance and enjoy oneself.  Jeff also blew his best tracks very
early on leaving the rest of the set with live TR-909 drumming and very boring tracks.  I left before
place closed, something rearely do.

This club was actually the famous "Sound Factory" club before it was the Twilo, I didn't know that at
the time when I was going out.

This mix here is a loose tribute to the sounds I heard when going to the Twilo.  I did some of these
in the past but I never published them.  This mix also features tech-house that I collected in the
past two years but never did anything with them so its time to enjoy these nice cuts.  Also Rennie
Foster was kind enough to publish a new track of his for free, "Kuwahara".  I've collected many
of Rennie's 12"s from the mid 2000s so it was nice to hear and play something new of his.  For
some reason the tempo of this track was extremely slow.  I had to burn the .WAV file to a CDR so I
could have my DJ CD player play this track at +9 to fit with everything else.  I'm actually surprised
that CD player worked at all, its on its last legs and I've been too busy buying 1993 'ardkore records
to replace it.  That track "Lazy People" was an antique shop find, its famous from one of Carl Cox's
Live at the Crobar Chicago mix CD.  Also Collins and Behnam "Make Your Move" is quite the jam.
I didn't hear it at the Twilo as the place was already closed by that point but I heard tracks just
like it there, banging loopy tracks with disco loops hidden inside.  Really nice!
