The Queen's Birthday long weekend was one of Melbourne's early regular rave nights - the first big rave in the city was held that weekend in 1990: Biology. It was my first rave too, and holds a very special place in my memory banks... and I did a special show on it last year, you can find it in the archives around show 17 I think.
So this week, the show features a few tracks played at the party mixed in with the usual random selections, while the last third of the show features tunes from my first ever gig - Sonic held in May, 1992. FYI, I played Tronikhouse and Jargon - Jeff played The Melody, and Richie dropped the rest.
Also a while back I had a bit of a blog going titled 'Within A Constant Groove', and I wrote about both these parties - so if anyone is interested you can take a look:http://withinaconstantgroove.blogspot.com.au/2010/06/20-years-ago-this-week-biology-rave.html http://withinaconstantgroove.blogspot.com.au/2011/05/sonic-rave-1992-russells-4-hours-of.htmlAnd I'll put Russell's mix up on mixcloud in a day or two too....
