Okay, so this is me out on a limb. Me out of my comfort zone. Me in uncharted territory. In...unsafe territory. Not safe within the confines of uplifting and progressive trance. No, this is totally out there for me. And I really like it.
This was brought on from influences of DJs like Matt-T and Defwill and their love of the deeper and sometimes darker sounds of tech and house. Not a space I normally play in, but something that I've always looked at from a distance with trepidation. Anyway, sometimes you ain't got time to think, you just got to pack your bags and go...and go I did.
I was most influenced by the brilliant track There Is No Safe Word from Pleasurekraft and it was pretty much the inspiration for this mix. My only place of familiarity and refuge was the Above & Beyond remix but as you'll hear, it's not the Above & Beyond you might know.
Anyway, here's my mix for a Friday night after a long week where the drinks and tunes are cool.
