Hey friends, fans & family, DJ Jon Wang here again with a new mix of mine titled "An Ode to Jon" .
I wish that I could have had a different reason for making this 1 but alas...I don't. So that being said let me tell you that this mix is a tribute the memory of William 'Wes' Turner - (1 of my 3 best friends who passed away this week on 12.8.2014, may he rest in peace) & to the love of his life Jon C. Curry. Now I've known Wes for 23+ years & he was the kind of happy, gentle, truly honest & most friendly person you could've ever hoped to have met. He will always be both missed as well as remembered (in part thanks to this mix, I hope) by everyone who's life he touched.
Now on to the mix description - Well I suppose that anyone who may have heard Wes spin could've picked/selected/chosen some of the records that were his faves from over the years, but I wanted to something more meaningful and personal with this mix. So with that in mind I began putting together a mix that would be able to capture Wes's spirit, essence, energy & soul (& ya know what, I do believe I've done just that.) I mean that if you hadn't ever met Wes in life then maybe you'd feel like you had after listening to this ALL Live & 100% ALL Vinyl DJ set of mine. So I hope you check it out and as always - Enjo!
