I am TOTALLY loving the nu skool breakbeat sound at the moment! Don't get me wrong, I love the original old skool classics through and through, I love a good skank out to jungle, and euphoric/liquid/vocal/futuristic DnB is fantastic. However, there is just something about the incredibly uplifting rave style sound in nu skool breaks. The BPMs aren't crazy, but aren't too slow so they don't feel at home in a hardcore rave, there are loads of ideas borrowed or lifted from classics, sure, but there are plenty of new ideas in there too and by no means is everything just a remix of an anthem. Happy happy vibes with plenty of juicy breakbeats, hoovers and bass!
