Though I started DJing when I was 21, I was always infatuated with House music from my earlier teens onward. I listened to local DJs like Derrick Carter, DJ Traxx, Respond, Mark Farina, and Miles Maeda. I didn't have CDs at the time, but rather tape cassettes. House music was something that was new and ominous to me, hidden from the limelight, and that drew me further in. I still have those tapes to this day and am inspired by them every single moment I produce a track or jump on the decks. As I take an objective look at the mixes I've recorded, I realize that I am not only continuing the tradition of what I heard, but also defining my own style that is unique from any other DJ that I've heard.
