Afro House 3

Collaborating with my friend and fellow DJ colleague out of the U.K., Ricky (BajanRascals), we've recently completed the 3rd entry in our Afro House Mix series.  This mix series has always presented a big challenge for me; especially the very first one we put together back in June, 2012.  I just didn't know the music, its vibe, or how to mix it.  But, I took the challenge and am forever glad that I did.

Cut to 2015; BajanRascals and I are at it again!  I’m still no expert.  I mean, you won’t find me headlining for DJ Black Coffee or anything, but I found a new love in the "South African House Music Movement." Now, the music is still a bit challenging, but I am a lot more knowledgeable about its sound, how to mix it, and its artists.

I’m usually pretty modest about my mix sets but this mix right here is beautiful at times, spiritually moving and tribal!  BajanRascals is immensely talented, and I always have to work hard to step up to his level when we take this journey through South Africa’s House Sound.  I think the end result of this mix is something kinda special.

A big thank you goes out to BajanRascals for introducing me to the South African House Music scene and for collaborating with me on our third effort in the Afro House Series.  This series is always challenging for me, but it’s immensely fun and the music makes my soul smile.
