In the early nineties, I've played professionally in Bratislava, at the time when the country begun it's transition to new and better times. Early on, I have tried to find my own style and take the extra effort to play stuff that nobody played, especially on the radio. We used to buy DMC previews from London, but more often than not we were on the road to Munich, and Vienna to buy stuff that was not on the charts. House music back then was simple. In 92, I've found my way to the US as a student and begun in Brooklyn with nothing but bag of clothes and about a grand in my pocket. It was an awesome time, the music scene in NYC was great, Funk Master, Junior Vasquez, Chris the Greek, Hot 97. I've spent a decade studying and working in the city, and eventually landed in Charlotte, NC. Once you were a DJ, you will never look at it the same way, you will always seek that new sound and inspiration. This platform allows me to experience that feeling once more!

I've been DJing on the UK House scene since 1993 (and for 2 years on the "rave" scene before that) and over the past 30+ years I've been fortunate enough to play for some of THE biggest and most established clubs and promoters around the globe, including bookings for the likes of Defected, Glitterbox, Mission, Garlands, FunkDelux, Hed Kandi, Dirtyfunk, Miss Moneypennys, The Gallery, Escucha, Head, Ministry Of Sound, Venus, Housexy, Hard Times, Xstatic, Progress, Fantazia, Xstatic, and many many more. Not to mention 2 seasons and countless trips out to Ibiza, Marbella and beyond to play for the likes of Es Paradis, Hed Kandi, Pacha, Kanya, Plastic, Itaca, Garlands, Blowin' Up, Ocean Beach, Mode and Zoo, and festival appearances at Xstatic, GFest and Lowdown. I am currently resident DJ for UK House promoters Housexy, and Glitteratti. I host a monthly guest mix on Cyprus based ROCKFM (3rd Friday of every month,8-10 UK time) which goes out on FM radio right across mainland and eastern Europe, as well as via the internet, and I also have a weekly radio show every Monday on sublimesounds.com (8-10pm UK time), not to mention regular guest slots on internet and FM radio stations all around the globe, from Australia to Brazil to Tokyo to Finland, and of course, the UK. In 2015 I won the House-Mixes Soulful House mix competition, which opened a lot of doors and gave me a huge amount of media interest around the globe. I've previously done a guest mix for Defected In The House radio, and 2 for Hed Kandi radio. In 2016 I took step back from DJing to focus on family life, getting married, children etc -y k'now, all the normal grown up stuff - and returned to live club DJing in 2019 after being offered a residency at Mono.... and I've been there pretty much ever since. It's great because they love my sound and believe in what i do, they give me the freedom to play the Disco House sound I love, when many other promoters are tending to favor darker techier sounds for their dancefloors. But the queues at the door each week show that people still love the Funky Disco House sound, and it's still got a massive army of fans who want something more soulful on their weekends. Even though I'm just starting out on my DJing journey again It's great to be back doing what I love and having the opportunity to play to a crowd, I really missed that interaction you only get with a live crowd. The scene itself may be more competitive than ever before, but its also more creative, and i like that, I love the fact that I can express myself through my music and creativity. 2023 is looking to be my busiest year yet, with DJ bookings and media interest building up nicely, and lots of international booking interest. Originating from sunny Bournemouth town and loving every second of dj life down on the UK South Coast is XJ. A passionate and meticulous dj whose pin point precision mixing, together with sensational tune selection has his crowds up and glued to the dance floor. XJ applies his sharp and seamless style predominantly to Drum & Bass, House, Trance and Hard Dance, but also enjoys the challenge of dabbling in other genres. XJ has had music running through his veins since birth and began getting more closely involved with music at the age of 13 when he picked up the mic and tried his hand at being an mc. After a few years on the mic XJ had the urge to mix and started messing around on a few of his friends decks. He then became a family man at an early age so XJ took some time out from the music scene and in 2005, he finally acquired his own setup. After a couple of years playing his vinyl at every chance he could get, XJ was ready to play out in his home town. He got involved with some local events and played at several Bournemouth hot spots including The Old Fire Station, Empire, Dusk till Dawn and DNA. When XJ attended university in 2010 he met a few like-minded dance music enthusiasts and together they launched their first drum and bass event Fracture in Bournemouth at the club Dusk Till Dawn. After the success of this event XJ’s passion and drive grew and the rest is history. His monthly residency at SoHo has become a regular hot spot for the local, house hungry bar hoppers. In 2017 XJ toured around Ibiza for his debut on the clubbing island, supporting the Parasol Ibiza Tour in association with Darkest Before Dawn Records. In 2018 he took his skills and sound to Ayia Napa as a resident DJ for Ayia Napa House Party hosted by House Party Events, along with house legend Junior Jack and 48 other national and international djs. In 2019 XJ returned to Ayia Napa with House Party Events alongside his fellow residents and up and coming djs Craig Knight, Franky Wah and Hot like Detroit. Next up in June 2019 will be XJs first festival slot, Home Farm Fest in Somerset, followed by his next summer booking at the largest festival in Wales: Logic Festival. The next step for XJ is production so watch this space! For the last couple of years I've been fortunate enough to have DJ'ing as my full time job, doing +200 gigs a year. I adapt my mixing according to the genres and expectations from the crowd, but I always try to build an atmosphere that take my audience to some kind of euphoric happiness. Straight forward mixing doesn't leave much room for errors but when it's tight. it's beautiful. I like progress and I embrace new technology as long as knowledge and skill is what's behind the use of it. Here, I can listen to all your nice uploads and get inspired to learn new stuff. I play a lot of funk/soul/disco originals and only manual mixing does it as you have to ''feel'' the mixes to get 'em right. That's why I never use sync 'n' rarely the quantize function. All my mixes are made in one take. No editing. I prepare my music, not my mixes. What you hear, is what you can expect to hear when I play live. Unless something critical happens, I don't restart the recording. Some people don't agree with me in this, but for me to do it in another way, would be like cheating to my customers. So yes, there will be errors once in a while and that's how it is. There's no start overs in real live gigs, and that's what I practice for. You who take your time to listen to my mixes here, are just as important to me as the crowd in a venue, so I put the same focus in my mixes as I do on live gigs. Every piece bring back memory's of long gone clubs and people I've met and got to know.
