I've been a DJ of one sort or another since 1978 when I played a load of reggae 12" discomixes at a school disco, causing much puzzlement! Played at many a house party and also for sound systems in Norwich in the 80s, then got into the Rave scene in early 90s, was resident DJ at Offyerface Norwich for 10 years playing techno and house... moved to Cumbria then after a break, started playing at parties and festivals again, Dubstep under the name League Against Dubstep, then reggae with Jambeater Sound and others... currently however I seem to be on an Afro-House tip, and by Afro House I don't mean the Brazilian latin stuff, although that's good too, but I'm talking about house from Africa, mainly South Africa but with many diverse collaborators thrown in... It's just got that dreamy trancy wide-open-spacey vibe, beautiful soaring harmonies and almost but not quite clashing chords, mad sub bass lines and of course the endless shaker beat and pounding kick drum underpinning everything, hardly a snare drum or a hi-hat to be heard, superb live instruments and majestic vocals, I don't know what they are singing about but I don't care!

2 1210's and a borrowed Vestax mixer Old School Hardcore, Jungle, DNB, House (not the designer haircut funky disco loop minimal electro rubbish) and Techno I'm just some bloke that buys a lot of records. Hi, I'm Dave, from Coventry, and i started djing way back in 1990, while still at school, inspired by legends Sasha and Carl Cox after listening to sets, given to me from older friends! I spent a lot of my time during the early 90's at the legendary club Eclipse, in Coventry, where i met lots of fantastic people including some of the finest DJ's around at the time, doing a couple of sets in Marco Polo, Birmingham. I also ventured across the midlands, clubbing wise, to places including Shelley's, Institute and Coast 2 Coast. After 5 years, i fell out of love with the scene, seeing as it was changing and not to my liking, to be honest and in 1995 i gave up raving and djing. Kept my vinyl, though, just in case!! Got back into it in 2006 after listening to online radio playing a lot of oldskool, and thought I'd give it another go. Not had the confidence to play out again, since but you never know..... HI there Im Retired from dj ing now after 25 yrs, well i say that but have a few nights now and then, ive played all overLondonfor all the big clubs over the years, and in the south.. started with oldskool, then house, then hard trance and acid techno.. before moving on to what i am known for inLondonon the underground circuit back then is hard house,it was known as hard bag in the early days, was one of the dj`s that was playing it as it was new to the dance scene from the days of house and the days of club uk, there was house, progressive house, industrial techno, then hard bag came about, it was different from all other music at the time and was for the hard head to rave to, some of the promotions i have played for over the years are hacienda, gods kitchen,ministry of sound,cream, house ofWindsor( mirage ) satellite, mind over matter, frantic, twisted, sunny side up, trinity,liberty, freedom, smile, convergence,smileCyprus, pandemonium,strawberrySunday,aphrodisiac,intrigue, hard drive,catch 22, provocation, eye q, wobble,rush, wobble berry, bounce, to name a few but there are many more,sorry if i haveforgottenyou, let me know and i will put you up, I have a load of live sets that were recorded in the clubs over the years, have all different styles of music, so will be putting them up from now on, alot of the recordings would have had over a 1000 ravers avin it,that'show it was back then,so imagine that when listening, some of the mixes maybe shady in places but hey its live and all done on vinyl please feel free to share, download, and comment ect ... I have had such joy bringing the live mixes to you and the response ive had has been amazing, thanks for listening and enjoying them and understanding, they were when the music was brand new and were fresh on the decks everyweek....
