D-Vox is a dj of 15 years, influenced by artists across genres. From mixing hard trance/hard house in her bedroom, inspired by Tiesto, she then found house, techno & dnb. D-Vox is also a versatile vocalist/lyricist. She has developed a unique ability to accompany instrumental DNB, house & techno tracks within her sets with live, melodic vocals. D-Vox host her own show 'D-Vox & Guests at www.afro-disiac.co.uk every 2nd Fri of the month 10-12am. She also airs mixes every Tues (Trance), Sat (House) & Sun (Techno) on www.beats2dance.com. She has also hosted on Progressive Beats Radio, Germany & VoiceFM 103.9 Soton. In 2017 she played for 3 months in Maldives, joined the 'Darkest Before Dawn' Parasol Ibiza Tour & will be playing on the ANHP tour in Ayia Napa 2018 with her partner DJ XJ. I began my DJ career at age 16 with one of my dad's belt drive turntables, a friend's belt drive turntable and a $90 Gemini mixer. I later got a set of 1210s and a a real mixer and went for it! In college my friend DJ Atom and I began the Ill Communications production company and started throwing raves in Santa Cruz and The SF Bay Area. I spent 5 years as the DJ for the seminal San Francisco Metal/Hip Hop band Zeromind. Playing with a live band gave me a respect for pitch and phrasing that most DJs don't have a need for. I was regularly "playing" along with the band in key with guitar samples and sound effects. Soloing on stage to hundreds of people as part of a rock band is something I will probably never replicate. Since then I have moved into the digital era and began working with software like Traktor and Ableton. I have a love for music that will never die, even though I have not been able to pursue it as my career I still regularly find myself spinning and producing tracks. If you love it, you just have to do it!

Numark TT 1910 Direct drive turntables (Shit i know but i've had em for over 10 years and they still work better than most new numark turntables on the market at the mo) Numark DM 1100SE Performance series mixer (Another antique lol but i learnt to mix on this and wouldn't give it up for the world). Virtual DJ Pro Infinity 8, and have just added a Numark Mixtrack Platinum to my collection, awesome controller. Have also just got a pair of Numark NDX 400's, great cd decks.
