HI MY NAME IS DJ BREAK HERES A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF MY CAREER AND MY PREFERENCES SO FAR PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ MY PROFILE :) I LOVE MIXING..OLDSKOOL CLASSICS N ANTHEMS 88-95 ISH..DRUM N BASS/JUNGLE/BREAKS/FUNKY HOUSE/ELECTRO/HIP HOP/RNB/RAGGA/DUBSTEP/JUNGLE TECHNO/JACKING HOUSE AND ANYTHING I CAN SCRATCH OVER...( AKA THE STICKY FINGAAA) I GOT MY 1ST SET OF DECKS WHEN I WAS 15 YRS OLD BACK IN 1990 IT WAS AT THIS POINT DURING MY EARLY CAREER THAT I STARTED OFF WITH HIP HOP (STREET SOUNDS) I THEN STARTED BUYING OLDSKOOL HOUSE AND PIANO CLASSICS VYNLS (MY 1ST RECORD WAS DOUG E FRESH THE SHOW ON 7" HAHA) I WAS GOIN TO THE HACIENDA, HIPPOS, BOWLERS ETC AND I WAS INSPIRED AND INFLUENCED BY THE BIG ANTHEMS IN THOSE CLUBS. I FOLLOWED ON THEN TO SECURE MY RESIDENCY FROM 1996 TO 2002 AT BOWLERS (MANCHESTER) LIFE/ASYLUM/COMPULSION I'VE PLAYED AT VARIOUS EVENTS UP AND DOWN THE COUNTRY OVER THE YEARS I DECIDED TO TAKE A SHORT BRAKE (2002- 2005) BUT I'VE BEEN BACK EVER SINCE PLAYING AT VARIOUS EVENTS AND RADIO STATIONS. Became a Freelance Dj when in my view dance music was being produced to the highest quality 1998. Back then I was well into the Trance scene doing Trance gigs in UK, Ibiza and Faliraki, In 2004 I started experimenting with other Genres of music including House which opened the doors to many commercial venues playing Funky House etc and had alot of work from those years also staying in the Trance scene for the not so commercial venues. House music got split into many sub genres in the past few years and I took a liking to Electro which gave me opportunities locally to have some of the biggest Electro nights I've seen or had. The commercial venues had now established a good House scene to which I started experimenting with Live mashups and remixing on set which gave me a new phenomenom to give crowds that little bit more to get excited about . I'm now mainly remixing and mashing anything that works well but also as little treats digging out those big tunes from years gone by and throwing them into a mix to take us all back keeping with the Trance / Funky House / Electro House experience. hello im jay aka dj Jest! Im a multi genre dj who started mixing back in 2000 on a pair of technics before switching to cdjs in 2011. I first started mixing trance music but due to my love of many genres i soon began experimenting with different sounds...i now play trance, hardhouse, house, drum and bass (liquid/classics/jump up), hardcore (olsdkool & newskool), jungle, garage (oldskool ukg) and anything else i can get my hands on! Although mainly mixing at home and on internet radio (with a few sets out) i still dream of playing out more!
